How dogs respond to massage

Dogs enjoy massage therapy as much as human.

* Most dogs are curious about what is happenign during their first massage, while other dogs my display suspicious attitudes

* After two or three massage sessions, a dog undertstands what to expect.

* Massage and dogs is about reading body language. the dog reads my body language and hand movements, while I read the dog's response. A dog communicates through muscle twitching, facial expressions, ear position, tongue licking and yawning.

* Some dogs enjoy a light gentle touch, while others prefer deep heavy massage. A massage begins with gentle strokes and gradually increasing pressure and depth helps determine a dog's tolerance level.

* Dogs who experience touch shyness, improper handling, and lack human bonding may takelonger to adjust to massage therapy. Short massage sessions, patience, time and love will help these dogs considerably.
